1. Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how GridSync handles deposits, payments, cancellations, and refunds for electrical design and contracting services, including PG&E applicant design, panel upgrades, EV charger installations, and related electrical work.
2. Deposits & Upfront Payments
Many projects require an upfront deposit to begin engineering, design, utility coordination, permitting, or material procurement. These deposits are generally non-refundable due to immediate costs incurred once a project begins.
- Engineering and PG&E application work begins immediately after deposit.
- Permit preparation and load calculations may start the same day.
- Scheduling, project planning, and resource allocation also begin upon payment.
3. Cancellation by the Client
Clients may cancel a project at any time by contacting us in writing. Refund eligibility depends on the stage of the project:
- Before work begins: A partial refund may be issued, minus administrative and scheduling costs.
- After engineering or PG&E design work has started: Deposits are non-refundable.
- After materials are purchased: Refunds are limited to unused, returnable materials (restocking fees may apply).
- After installation or on-site work begins: No refunds are available for work already completed.
4. Cancellation by GridSync
GridSync may cancel or postpone a project if:
- Unsafe or non-compliant conditions exist on-site.
- Required information or approvals are not provided.
- The client fails to make required payments.
- PG&E or permitting authorities impose restrictions or changes that impact the project.
In such cases, partial refunds may be issued for work not yet performed. Work already completed, including engineering or PG&E submissions, is non-refundable.
5. PG&E or Permit-Related Delays
GridSync is not responsible for delays caused by PG&E, local permitting authorities, inspections, or external agencies. Refunds will not be issued for utility-related delays or decisions outside our control.
6. Missed Appointments & Site Access Issues
If a technician arrives on-site but cannot perform work due to inaccessibility, missing authorization, or unsafe conditions, a trip fee may be charged. These fees are non-refundable.
7. Refunds for Digital Deliverables
Engineering drawings, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and PG&E application packages are non-refundable once delivered or submitted, as labor is fully incurred at that point.
8. Disputed Charges
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us within 7 days of invoicing. We will review the issue and work to resolve it professionally. Chargebacks filed before contacting us may delay project work.
9. Failure to Pay
If a payment fails or remains overdue, GridSync may pause work, postpone inspections, or withhold deliverables until payment is completed. No refunds will be issued for delays caused by unpaid balances.
10. Policy Changes
GridSync may update this policy at any time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of any changes.
